Catalog #07-130 Supersedes Catalog #03-130 Air & Multipurpose General Purpose APPENDIX-GENERAL INFORMATION Heavy Duty Push-on PALADIN DROP HOSE COUPLING PROCEDURE USING CAM AND GROOVE FITTINGS WITH GOODYEAR BANDING COIL Chemical Transfer 1. If hose conductivity is required refer to NAHAD Hose Assembly Guidelines. Cleaning 2. Cut banding coil to appropriate length (approximately 6" to 8" of banding coil per hose Equipment end) to insure complete coverage of the coupling insert inside the hose. 3. Looking down the end of the hose, screw or band, in a counter-clockwise motion, the Food banding coil onto the end of the hose; filling the cover depressions between the PVC Transfer helix. Washdown 4. Install the fitting insert into the end of the hose. Marine 5. Making sure the banding coil is tight around the hose, and properly filling the cover depressions, install the first 3/4" metal hose strap (closest to the hose end) so when Material Handling tension is applied, the 3/4" metal strap will rotate in a counter-clockwise motion Abrasives Bulk Transfer causing the banding coil to tighten down further onto the hose. Cement & Concrete 6. Install the second metal hose strap (properly spaced) behind the first metal strap using the same procedure as outlined in #5 above. Mining TECHNICAL RECOMMENDATIONS: Petroleum Aircraft Fueling · The counter-clockwise motion is required. Application of the 3/4" metal straps in any Dispensing other fashion will cause loosening of the banding coil and reduced coupling retention. Dock Transfer · 3" I.D. drop hose requires a 2 1/2" banding coil. Spray · 4" I.D. drop hose require a 3 1/2" banding coil. · Ten (10) turns of the banding coil will assure coverage of the coupling insert, regardless Steam of the hose I.D. Vacuum · Always align the 3/4" metal straps with the coupling insert barbs or nodes. To be sure the metal straps are in the proper position, it is recommended the hose cover be Water marked where the barbs/nodes are located. Discharge · The use of two (2) each 3/4" stainless steel, "performed," center punched or rolled Suction & Discharge over metal straps is recommended. Washdown · Tightening the 3/4" metal straps with a hand tool is recommended.
