MAXIPOWERTM BELTS
Thermoid has gone beyond the ordinary
to
produce
a
remarkable wedge-type, multiple drive belt-Maxipower.
The deep-V design of the Maxipower belt enables
a
smaller
belt
to
carry
a
bigger load. It can operate
at
higher speeds
up
to
6,500 feet-per-minute.
Belt width and groove spacing are narrower and that
reduces sheave face width 30%
to
50%. Decreased sheave
width
means less
shaft overhang, which places
a
lighter load
on
bearings and increases bearing life.
As
belt drive
systems
are designed or redesigned, consider
Maxipower belts.
Belts
that will do the job more economically
and
use less
space.
Three cross-sections of Maxipower belts handle jobs usually
requiring five
sizes
of classical V-belts. Maxipower belts are
oil and heat resistant and static conducting:
Belt Sizes and Dimensions
Unicord®
5V and 8V belts over 112 Inches are branded Unlcord. They are
produced to tighter Sure·Set tolerances, ensuring excellent
matchability. The center distance variations have been reduced
on Unlcord belts, producing smoother running belts
Sure-Set®
Belts marked Sure·Set are produced to Sure·Set tolerances
This means that all belts of a given size and style are matched.

Packaging
All 3V section, and 5V section belts (up to 170 inches) are pre·
packed in boxes of 12 each With belt size and quantity printed on
the box. All 5V section (over 170 inches) and 8V section belts are
packaged Individually.
Kevlar Cord Belts
3V, 5V and 8V sedon belts are also available as special orders for
difficult drives requiring extra strength. Contact Elgin for minimums
